Scripts - Where to get & Updates

I just watched your Quickstart scripts video again. I always learn a little more each time.

Regarding scripts:
  • When load Pixinsight, does it go look for updates online to the scripts I have previously loaded?
    • I know the update WBPP2.1 showed up. What about all the others that I installed in my Pixinsight scripts directory?
  • You mentioned to look in the New Scripts and Modules subforum for new scripts, which is where I got the pre-release of NormalizeScaleGradient. Are there some other places to look? I count 23 .js files in my scripts directory, and a couple hundred more .js files in the subfolders under scripts.
Your overall comments appreciated!
Thanks,

  • Hi,
I asked my questions, and others, in the PI forum just now. I searched first but too many irrelevant results. Let's see if I get some answers there.

  • I do have an answer... but I have not tested it yet... and it may just be a hack.
    From another developer:

"I don’t know, why PixInsight is not walking through all repositories after each version update.

In such cases, I would try to delete updates.xri *), before PI is started and press RESOURCES/Updates/Check for Updates. In that case, Pi can not find the history of updates and forces a complete re-scan."

Perhaps if you are bold..you can report if this trick works!
