Galaxy cores getting blown out

Adam,

I've been going primarily through Fundamentals of NGC300 and Episode 1 of PixInsight TV and am currently working on M81. The issue I'm having is that the more I work on the galaxy, the more the core gets blown out. I created a mask for the core for things like MMT and Exponential Transformation on the galaxy, but the biggest issue I have is when I combine my master and my starless in Blend. I can't seem to blend them without the core getting out of hand. I've made curves adjustments to the core only after and it's not terrible, but I'm looking to make it less of a challenge. Any clues or ideas on what I can do? I've attached a jpg that's close to being complete for reference.

I would recommend consider using HDRMT. I have quite a few videos on this tool and topic.
