Data Sets for Horizon Processing sessions

Hi
In the most datasets there are the Master Calibration Files, but not the Bias, Darks, Flats as separate files.
If it is possible, I would like to have this files because I like to learn from cratch.
Another reason are different sripts which demands such files.
As example: MureDenoise calculator needs bias and flats to calculate the gain.
Thanks
Ed

  • Hi Edwin,

Some of the data from the remote telescopes do not have raw calibration files. I just get the calibrated images.
Other data, I do have the raw files...BUT- the space required to save this data is quite large! (if I do it for all of the data sets).

I will need to think about ways to deal with this.

  • Hi Adam
I think it would be enough to get 2-5 frames of bias, darks and flats per filter.
This allows to work with such processes or scripts like ccd parameters or muredenoise calculator.
Then we calculate the correct parameters of the imaging (gain, readnoise)
I dot think that there is a demand for all the bias, darks and frames.
    Thanks Ed
  • The data sets I am about to upload will have complete sets of raw calibration files.
    So... look for these shortly.
First up will be a data set on M51.

  • M51 Data set (with calibration data) is available (if I uploaded it correctly).

  • Hi Adam
I am looking now the new M51 videos.
But I cannot recognize the data set(s).
    Thanks Ed
  • Sorry... when you say you cannot "recognize" the data sets. What does that mean?
    There is a link :
    (it says M51 DATA)
    Here is the direct link:

    Thanks,

  • Hallo Adam
Ok I have found it now.
    "Problem" was:
If you click the homepage of your website, there are the videos. Another click to the video opens the video. but there ar no data's. Go back to the fundamentals and to the fundamental example and after another click: voilà, there are the data!
    Thanks, Ed
