Green colour cast Continuum Subtraction

Hi Adam,

While following you video regarding adding Ha data to an RGB image by using the Continuum Subtraction method that you have shown on M51 I encounter a problem when recombining the individual channels back into an RGB image after adding Ha to the red and blue channels!!

With my colour corrected image, I open RGBWorkingSpace and set all weights to 1

Split the channels and add Ha to the red and small amount to blue

Recombine video a ChannelCombination into and RGB image and suddenly now I have a green colour cast through the stars and galaxy

Any help appreciated, if needed I’ll try link files when I get to the computer

Cheers,
Sam

  • If you have a green color cast- it means either your red disappeared in signal strength for some reason- or you are not managing the backgrounds properly. Did you remove the red background and now the green dominates? Did you neutralize the background?

Yeah, screenshots showing your steps and issues will help.
