LRGB/HDRM vs. RGB for a Bright Galaxy

I just started collecting LRGB data on M94- a beautiful galaxy albeit a bright one- especially the core.  I am under B7 skies but I can still get decent BB images at times.  In this case, the Lum is very bright even using 120s subs.  I went online to check out dozens of excellent M94 images, but the approaches are all over the place from 120s to 900s subs and LTGB or just RGB (with and without Ha).  So, not to ask too convoluted a question, if LRGB data on a bright galaxy like M94, would it most likely be best to: 1) just go with the RGB data set and pull out as much detail as possible or 2) collect LRGB, pull out the best detail and try to tame the core with a tool like HDRM?  Perhaps it is impossible to answer this unless you see the data, but I thought I'd through it out there to pick your brain.
