Potential Updates to Some Older Horizons Videos?

Hi Adam,

I have started watching your PixInsight Horizons content. It is full of so much knowledge!

I have a question regarding some of the older videos that are a part of Horizons. Will there be scope to eventually "update" some of them to include newer methods and techniques which have replaced older versions? E.g. ImageIntegration: Improving Results, Combining Old and New Data (both versions), Color Contrast Enhancement and Multiplicative Contrast Enhancement, just to name a few.

I tried to watch the Image Integration: Improving Results video, but the methods you showed in the video are not present in the current ImageIntegration process, so I am not sure where to go from there.

Perhaps this could be something for when the new website launches? Again, these are just suggestions.

Zak :)

  • Yes...I definitely need to update some stuff.
I started with FastTrack Training..that was the priority. I am just about done I think.

I will need to review the "Improving Results" video..I can't remember what I said....

The Multiplicative Contrast bit..you can do that in ImageBlend. I hope to create a course on using ImageBlend.
The is probably true for the color contrast enhancement. '

  • Sounds good, can't wait. I've finished watched the newer FastTrack Training videos for 2025, and they were all very good! I'm very impressed with the quality of the photos for both OSC and Monochrome. I felt the pacing was very good as well, as well as the techniques covered.

I actually have my own Horsehead Nebula image I shot late last month over three months, albeit with a OSC camera. Might be worth re-processing it with in tandem with the new videos.

I am also keen for an ImageBlend course. It would definitely be beneficial for everyone!
