Hi everyone,
If I apply a pedestal in WBPP, and I also wan to selectively reject artifacts in some of my subs? Can I apply the blackout in the original subs, or should I perform the rejection after calibration and debayering instead?
For context:
I'm working on an HOO image with RGB stars using a OSC camera and an Optolong L-eXtreme filter. My subs are 1200s each and look great—except for the first night, where I noticed micro-lensing around the brightest star. I later mitigated this by stacking an Astronomik Luminance filter in front of the L-eXtreme.
Despite the issue, I’d like to use as much of the first nights data as possible. By selectively rejecting the micro-lensing artifacts. I only have 15 affected subs, so I plan to handle them manually. However, since I’m applying a pedestal in WBPP, I’m unsure if this will interfere with the rejection process.
Any insights would be greatly appreciated!
