NSG - Question On Image Integration Following NSG On LDN183 Example

edited January 22 in PixInsight
Adam,

Good evening.

I bought the license from John Murphy - even if I didn't need the full version the donation seemed the right thing to do.

Got everything working as you demonstrated in the NSG video for the LDN183 workflow with one exception. After the NSG script has completed for any of the three color sets, and the Image Integration menu pops up, it has many of the files marked with an X, instead of the check mark on all the images in your video. There will be anywhere from 3 to 5 with checks depending on the color.

I am able to click on the X's and change them to checks, and the integration seems to proceed normally to completion. But I am wondering what setting I could have incorrect. Attached is a screenshot of what occurs.

I have to register on the website that John links to - but my registration is still pending.

As always,

Thanks you!

  • You need to adjust the Weights and Transmission before you exit NSG (after it is done).
You control the weight and transmission thresholds for integration.

(The text telling you to do this is in your screenshot...in the console!).

I do cover this in the NSG content on my site.
    Specifically here:

  • Adam,

As much as I stared at those screens yesterday (lol)  - I still missed it.  Thank you for pointing it out.

I will go read the article. To be honest I've been so focused on the getting thru the videos in Fundamentals, I have not explored some of the other material on your site - other than the Forum.

    Thank you!

    Adam,

I have watched the 10 videos in the section you linked on NSG. Those really cleared up a lot of things regarding NSG. I started with the oldest videos you did and worked my way up.

I did not realize that there was such a large amount of additional video topics outside of the Pathway list. Here I thought that I was close to the half way point in the Fundamentals program - WRONG. And yes - it was clear on the page with the Pathway link I always start at - "Many are on the path above, but not all".

Went back and redid the NSG and Image Integration for the LDN183 problem - with much better results. And I understand why.

  • Excellent!
John Murphy is working on something else that NSG will soon be able to perform that will help many people. I am looking forward to his release of this... and covering the topic on my site.
