Comet C/2023 A3 FOV

Adam,

Now that this comet is getting to an altitude that I can image it from my location, I'm having difficulty finding the FOV required to capture the entire comet.  Do you know of a source of this information?

Thanks,

Ron

  • Well... as of last night you need a minimum of 15 degrees in terms of field of view.  If you want to get *everything* ... double this. I am putting together an image that stretches more than 20 degrees and it still isn't enough especially because of the "anti-tail."

Looking at other people's recent images will give you an idea. There isn't a single source that says such a number... it is constantly changing due to the comet activity and geometry (and brightness...it is fading quickly now...)
