Weird artefacts after channel combination

Dear Adam,
I have LRGB data which looks fine and gets plate solved just fine. When I do a color combination I get some weird "double stars" in different colors. (when zoomed to 1:1) the combined picture is still plate solvable but these double stars do not look right.
What am I doing wrong?
thank you
philipp

  • The images are not aligned obviously.
(Good job for zooming in to discover this).

You need to blink your registered data and make certain all of the files are aligned with respect to one another. Presumably you used "Auto" for the registration method... which means that one of the frames was chosen as an alignment reference and all of the other data and every color should have been aligned to it. This apparently did not happen. You need to discover why.

Typically the issue of misalignment is due to hot pixels. You need to make certain you used Cosmetic Correction correctly.

There are also some other possibilities that are less common... but I would start with the above.
