Where's the Narrowband Normalization video?

Adam,

I'm watching your NB Fastrack video Narrowband Combine Methods (1) at 10:44 in the video you mention that you have an entire video on Narrowband Normalization.  I've searched for "Narrowband Normalization" in all the videos listed on the homepage of your website (including the archives) and I can't find that video.

Can you point it out?

Thanks,

Okay, I was able to search here in the Forum and find this post:

    https://www.adamblockstudios.com/forums/discussion/1271/narrowbandnormalization-in-linera-oops/p1

Which pointed me to the video

    https://www.adamblockstudios.com/articles/narrow-band-normalization

    Which was published on 10/23/2023

However when I look for that video in the archives from the homepage it isn't listed?

Now I'm watching that video I notice a difference between your fastrack training where you run NarrowBand Normalization after you've LinearFit the H,S,O images together but in this older video you call that the "old school method" and instead use the Narrowband Normalization to do the fit.

Makes me wonder if the LinearFit in the fastrack training is unnecessary?

Also, maybe I missed it, but the older video uses explicit Background Neutralization after using ChannelCombination but I don't recall seeing that step in NB Fastrack Training?

  • I know more today then I did back then. In NB FastTrack I demonstrate that Linear Fit will do a majority of the work and NB Normalization (with its additional adjustments) does the rest. I do believe it is the best way to proceed to ensure optimal results.

Please watch my video on Linear Fit. Linear Fit is effectively doing an additive and scaling solution. This is background neutralization and scaling. That is why I do not need to do BN if Linear Fit is being done. Remember y = mx + b ... the b is the "background" (additive constant).

Since the work I am doing today it clearer...I think I might remove the old reference (or perhaps give it some text explaining). This is where things are tricky for someone trying to keep everything up-to-date.

Regarding the archive.. you will find it listed on October 12th. The reason for the discrepancy is that I made that video for YouTube and later uploaded to my site.
