OSC Narrowband.

Hi Adam

Thanks for your OSC Narrowband videos. Added a level of finesse to my existing workflow. I never thought of doing (H)HOO but it does work well.

One question. You used DBE to tame the background green on the new HOO image but it left a lot of residual Kermit pixels. The new gradient correction, very high smoothing with structure protection, or even plain old Background Neutralisation seem to do a better job in one hit and have less impact on the colour balance of the whole image. Any logical reason to use DBE that I have not considered.

Regards

Chris

  • DBE isn't really for color correction (although it can remove a color bias). It is more about the gradient and getting a more uniform result. The "kermit" pixels will still stand out no matter what color they end up being via BN or any other means. So, no, there is no special reason for DBE as opposed to other methods.
