NGC1491 Masked Stretch

I just finished watching the NGC1491 Masked Stretch section and have a question. It seems that when you used the "substitute' that you were just using the Masked Script process to stretch one view. Could you have done the same thing using any stretch? since we ended up using 'substitute' as the real action here.
I guess I don't understand what Masked Stretch is used for instead of STF, etc.
Thank you for all the videos.

  • Masked stretch gives a very particular kind of stretch that is quite different than Histogram Transformation or GHS.

    Did you review this video?

Remember, I am *trying* to keep everything searchable on my site. If you search for an item (in this case "Masked Stretch" .. you do get some results!

  • I just want to add..the point of the workflow section is *not* to explain everything during demonstrations.
It is "shut up Adam and just show me" like stuff.
This is why I have so many sections that explain things (without the workflow).
    I hope that makes sense.
