SPCC Error - *** Error: Insufficient data: only 2 sample(s) are available; at least 5 are required.

Hi Adam.  I received this error attempting to use SPCC on a linear RGB Image.  The image was created using Channel Combination, then I applied DBE, Image Solver and SCNR.  Not quite sure what this error is exactly but I assume it is not finding enough stars use for some reason.  I did try reducing the SNR and increasing the detection scales but still received the same error.  Dropbox link below.

Thanks

Reggie

This was answered on the forum. You are not doing anything wrong.
There are too few GAIA stars with spectra in the field. (only 5).
You will have to resort to PCC.

To date this is the only place in the sky known to have two few stars for this field of view.

  • Ok, I do remember this problem now and I also think you mentioned something about this problem in a post you did a while back.  Thanks for your response.

  • Actually.. this is first time a GAIA hole has been found.
It is pretty rare. Previous catalogues have many more holes...
