Problem with Integrated Data

Hi Adam.  I'm working with Telescope Live data of NGC 1788.  The data overall looked good initially (Blink) but when I integrate the separate channels, several stars and the background have cold pixels very visibly showing up.  I've attached a closeup image of the integrated luminance data as an example.  I've tried adjusting the cold pixel parameters in Image Integration several different ways but with no real improvement.  I've also attached the original Image Integration parameters I used.

I've sent you a link with the aligned luminance data so you can review it if you'd like.  I've not seen this issue before and your thoughts on how this happens so I can determine a solution.

Thanks in advance; Reggie

  • Wait... does the original raw data have the black spots?
(This is a common effect for certain kinds of CCD cameras... )

  • I saw the frames.. They do not.
So, when I integrated them I get the expected result.
There are no black anythings in the result.

  • Why is your scaling Multiplicative with Scaling??
Why do you have no normalization for the Pixel Rejection??

  • Yikes - thanks Adam; I was tired when I worked on this as it’s been a long day.  figured I was doing something wrong but couldn’t see it.  I’ll correct all this tomorrow.
