Plate solving question

So, I took what I learned and reprocessed some of my own data.  I added drizzle, cosmetic correction, curve transformation ,  I had only 2 hours of data, no flats, only lights and darks,    I got an image, and it’s good.  I can see I need to spend more time with the Histogram transformation because this image is not obviously better than my imaged before the fast track training,
BUT, I realized I used the wrong pixel size and wrong focal length for Image solving.  I had saved the settings in my WBPP from Fasttrack and used that.  I did check a fits header for this data and the pixel size is in the header but not the focal length.   I did give WBPP  a search and used M31 (my target).   It did solve the position.  It did not fail plate solving.   I can use the script-render-annoteteimage and get labels and so on.            How come it didn’t fail with the wrong focal length and wrong pixel size?    Thanks
