SXT in NGC1491 Workflow?

I following along with the NGC1491 workflow using some of my own data and noticed an odd behavior.
After using StarXTerminator (v2.2.0 AI11) to split the RGB image into the background and stars images, performing DBE, and using PixelMath to add the images back together, the resulting SXT stars appear shrunken (in the resulting "_stars" image and in the combined PM image.  I noticed "Large Overlap" is ON in the workthrough (not a default setting), but that seemed to have no effect.

I tried on both RGB and NB data (both in a linear state), but see the same behavior...
  • Data is 0.65 arcsec/px,
  • PM is RGB+RGB_stars using single RGB/K and creating new image by dragging instance onto original RGB.(as in the video)
Any ideas?

  • Hmm... You said all the right things- but this result is usually (always?) caused by having one of the images stretched. Are you absolutely positive this is not the case? Are you following along with my data or your own?
(you can also post some screenshots).

  • I've discovered an explanation for what I am seeing.
It's what you called "wacky" in the Stretch Academy video: Starless Images and Stretching Part 2 @ at ~4:50.
