Mono images with RGGB in the FITS header

I just acquired a monochrome camera and after last night's session I discovered that the Colour FITS preview (debayer) option in APT doesn't apply just to the preview image, but writes the RGGB bayer pattern directly into the FITS header. Can I create monochrome images with this data? Should I be re-shooting my darks library given that it is similarly tagged?

Anyone have a solution?

Will unchecking the CFA option achieve that objective?

Yes, unchecking the CFA should do the trick. Just make certain WBPP always thinks these images are monochrome (sans CFA).
