Ah Ok, Thanks Adam - as a side question, is there an Advanced Imaging Conference scheduled for later this year? I'm not finding any info for this year.
Thanks
Reggie
I was afraid you were going to confirm that - this camera is specified as native 16 bit A/D but it hasn't really performed that way at least when taking flat calibration frames. Have to do more research on this problem with others who use this came…
One additional piece of info; prior to this final error, there were 2 others during the process. I've posted below.
Loading control points...Simplified surfaces: tolerance = 0.03 as | l: 710 | b: 765Simplified surfaces: tolerance = 0.05 px | X: 703…
So, reviewed the DBE tutorials and now I think I get it; no questions there right now.
For MLT, I have 2 questions. You used MMT to explain how the Threshold selection works for this particular module and you mentioned that you didn't quite know ho…
I have, more than twice. Let me go through them once again (I view your tutorials usually more than twice anyway) and if I still have any questions, I'll just use this forum to ask them.
Thanks; R
Ok - your comments for smoothing and tolerance are really helpful; I'm still having some trouble understanding those parameters and how to use them effectively. I've dropped what I've come up with so far after using your suggestions in DropBox.
Do …
Wow, thanks for this; it's a lot better than what I came up with. I'm going to need to do yet another review of your DBE module as I still don't quite fully understand how to use the Tolerance and Smoothing factors; I'd used 7 for Tolerance and .6 …
Hi John - this was Telescope Live data. Specifically from their 1Click bundled data of NGC 4372, the Dark Doodad nebula. The data I get from them, whether it's an Advanced Request I made or like this the data is always calibrated by them.
After …
Thanks John. So, I'm was working on a different dataset today and followed my normal workflow with NSG; I checked the NSG files and the FITS information did come across as expected. Looks like it all works.
Thanks for taking the time to help resol…
Hi John; sorry its taken me a bit to respond. If you send me an email address, I will share the DropBox folder I share with Adam that contain 2 XISF files. The registered file is output from the Star Alignment Process which still has all the FITS …
Yes. And I checked the files after StarAlignment and the FITS info was still there. It was only after using Normalized Scale Gradient that the FITS info came up missing.
FYI - figured out what I did wrong. Somehow, I'd inadvertently checked the "Overwrite Existing Files" when I ran the NSG script. That destroyed the original data in the FITS header as is advertised.
FYI - backtracked and discovered that when I used Normalized Scale Gradient on the data after Star Alignment, the FITS Header was changed and the information was removed from the data.
So, the good news is I retraced my steps and I think I got the process to work as advertised. Bad news is I don't think I fully completed the process nor do I fully understand all that I did. Sent an email to book an hour of your time via office h…
One additional piece of info; I decided to work on a Telescope Live 1 Click dataset of NGC 1365. Processed through NSG/Integration of LRGB subs and when I did a combine via LRGB combo just to crop all each master LRGB files the same, I got the same…
